Glossophobic

In one of my latest journal entries I asked what people would like to see me do more of and one of the things was monsters. So today I decided that I would draw a collection of monsters that originate from strange phobias. To start off the collection, I did my own strange phobia that is classified as glossophobia, or the fear of tongues. Not only did I make its whole essence a tongued figure (with split tongues as hands) I looked up tongue diseases to unleash upon my monster (which was terrible.)
I placed upon my monster the diseases that disturbed me most which were;
- Hairy Leukoplakia - caused by HIVs/STDs (turns your tongue black and brown, and sometimes your tongue will grow hairlike substance)
- Burning Mouth Syndrome - caused by dry mouth and body conditions (creates white sores across the tongue)
- Extreme Geographic Tongue - caused mainly by drinking, smoking or hormonal imbalance (creates large flat bright red sores surrounded by white irritated taste buds)
- The simple Tongue Infection - caused by tongue piercings or cuts (creates a swelled tongue that turns brown and yellow, occasionally bleeds excessively)
So yeah, that was terrible.
