Twisted Wonderland

The theme was to draw one (or more) of their characters with an Alice in Wonderland themed outfit. I hope that it is okay that I may have changed a few things about their initial designs. The mad hatter and the chesire cat are some of my favorite characters in the story, so I knew I wanted to do them.

I have always seen the Mad Hatter as more of a neutral character in the story, not really taking a side so he has no initial coloration but has blotches of red in his hat to symbolize that he does cooperate if need be. He can use his hands, but the scarf he wears is what he mainly used to pick things up. They also work as a spare set of hands when he works on his hats. He wears clips and pins in his hair so he always has a few handy as well. I kept the initial colors of his design a part of this character as well to show similarities between his normal attire.

The Chesire Cat I based off of acrobats in a way as felines are extremely flexible and fluid. I took the idea of from Disney's Alice in Wonderland of his striped disappearing and made it so she had no stomach, but her chest and lower cavities are still attached by stretchable ribbon. She also had her hands in set of large animal claw gloves to show a bit more of a feral craziness to her character. I kept her necklace she wears in her original picture as well as some of the colors of her outfit and other features to relate to her original design like I did for the other character.

Since the contest is mainly for their clothing designs, I darkened the background and did not do too much revision on it since it was not a requirement but I felt that it was necessary.
